Types of Interships in the NYBG Unpaid Student Internship Program



Summer Internships
Term: June 10, 2013 – August 16, 2013; 10 weeks
Summer internships require a minimum commitment of three days per week. These internships are offered during the summer months (June–August) and are ideal for recent graduates, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Students need not receive credit if they do not wish to do so.

LENGTH
Ten weeks
2013 TERM
June 10, 2013 – August 16, 2013
REQUIRED COMMITMENT
Three days per week minimum (full-time optional).


Fall Internships
Term: September 17, 2012 – December 14, 2012; 14 weeks
Fall and spring internships require a minimum commitment of two days per week. These internships are offered during the school year, coinciding with the fall and spring semesters. Fall and spring internships are ideal for registered students who require internship or practicum credits, but students need not receive credit if they do not wish to do so.

Fourteen weeks
2012 TERM
September 17, 2012 – December 14, 2012
REQUIRED COMMITMENT
Two days per week minimum.


Spring Internships
Term: January 21, 2013 – April 26, 2013; 14 weeks
Fall and spring internships require a minimum commitment of two days per week. These internships are offered during the school year, coinciding with the fall and spring semesters. Fall and spring internships are ideal for registered students who require internship or practicum credits, but students need not receive credit if they do not wish to do so.

January 21, 2013 – April 26, 2013
REQUIRED COMMITMENT
Two days per week minimum.


Everett Children's Adventure Garden Explainer Internship
Middle or high school students age 14-17 are eligible.
Terms: School Year, Fall and Spring Summer
The Garden's Intern Explainer Program offers a great opportunity to make new friends, learn about plants, develop new skills, and receive personal mentoring and hands-on training. In return, you volunteer your time in the Everett Children's Adventure Garden to help facilitate programs and offer assistance to visitors of this world-class institution. This volunteer program will not only provide you with a fun new experience today, but will continue to open many doors for you in the future, as you learn and apply all that the Garden can teach you.
