Summary of Responsibilities:
 
The Professional Development Specialist will support all aspects of the professional development program, including administrative and logistical aspects of the FIPSE partnership, a grant based program introducing science education practices to pre-service teachers. Assistant will work with the Manager to support other teacher programs as needed.
 
  • Attend FIPDE meetings, and report on updates, changes, and action items to Manager and Director.
  • Organize logistics for onsite and offsite FIPSE programs, and help with teacher training preparation.
  • With Manager, work to provide on-site programs for participating teachers.
  • Assist with database management.
  • Schedule includes weekends.
Requirements:
 
·                  Bachelor’s Degree in Plant Science, Environmental Education, Education, or other related area.
·                  Strong interpersonal skills required; Teaching experience in formal or non-formal setting preferred.
·                  Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
·                  Team player, imaginative, organizational skills.
·                  Understanding of school systems and state and national standards preferred.
·                  Computer literate (proficiency in Microsoft Office).
·                  Must be available to work weekends.
