Sponsor of Spotlight on Agave: A Tequila Story

Originally only offered to close friends and family, Reserva de la Familia is made from the Cuervo Family estate’s 7–8 year-old, hand-picked Agaves. Only the flavorful inner portion of the agave is used, stripping out all the bitter notes, to make the tequila ultra-smooth. The tequila is then aged for a minimum of three years in few French and American oak barrels. The result is the smoothest Extra Añejo (Ultra Aged) tequila that the Family is proud to offer in very select quantities today.

Started in 1995, Reserva de la Familia was launched to the public to celebrate the Family’s 200th Anniversary of its distillery in Tequila, Mexico. Every year the Cuervo family commissions a renowned Mexican artist to design a new collectible box. Jose Cuervo® is proud to sponsor the Frida Kahlo 2015 exhibition at The New York Botanical Garden in order to build upon this long-continued celebration of outstanding Mexican artistry and heritage.

Club Med is delighted to take part in FRIDA KAHLO: Art, Garden, Life, showcasing artwork by Mexico’s renowned artist and celebrating the country’s rich cultural heritage. We appreciate the strong focus on Kahlo’s relationship with nature represented by both the exhibition’s location in the spectacular New York Botanical Garden and the selected art pieces themselves.

Club Med has long since felt a strong tie to Mexican culture as it was the first resort on the Cancun strip before it was the popular destination it is now. Due to the early discovery of this destination, Club Med Cancun Yucatan boasts Cancun’s only beach with a coral reef for snorkeling and a privileged location at the end of the peninsula, and it has also recently undergone a significant renovation including the addition of 60 two-bedroom rooms to welcome more families to this stunning destination. Club Med’s second Mexican resort is in Ixtapa nestled between the Sierra Madre Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, and has been named the Best Hotel for Families in Mexico by TripAdvisor 2014. We wish for families to experience Mexican culture through art, as well as by visiting this special country, and look forward to sending the winners to one of our Mexican resorts.
