Just a heads-up that we’re closed for Thanksgiving this Thursday, November 27—but we open again Friday as the Holiday Train Show continues!

We hope your holiday is a joyous one, and with winter on the horizon, the seasonal celebration’s only just getting started. Be sure to make time for the train show—the city’s favorite family tradition—now through January 11. And this Friday, wear your loudest sweater for Ugly Sweater Night at Holiday Train Nights. It’s a party at the warm and welcoming Haupt Conservatory as we turn on the twinkling lights and get the live holiday music going. Bring the whole crew, sip on seasonal cocktails for purchase, and make some memories with us!

The ozukuri—or “thousand bloom” kiku—is one of the most legendary and impressive forms in the art of training Japanese chrysanthemums. Find out how it’s done! 🌼👀

Hear from Anna in the Nolen Greenhouses for Living Collections, where our expert horticulturists have spent the past 11 months sculpting these plants into diverse shapes, both traditional and contemporary. This particular ozukuri—a truly “Golden” icon—is now blooming with over 300 flowers, despite it being a single plant. Seriously, just take a look underneath while you’re here—you’ll see a lone stem supporting the entire mountain of flowers!
