Scarecrows take over NYBG on these exclusive nights for kids of all ages. Start your evening off at the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden and explore over 30 friendly scarecrows set among rare and unusual pumpkins and gourds. Grab a ConEdison flashlight to explore the Whole Foods Market® Trick-or-Treat Trail and sculptures, listen for critters of the night, and celebrate the season with larger-than-life skeletons and costumed characters created by Lucrecia Novoa. Round out your evening by stopping at trick-or-treat stations in the Discovery Center and enjoy snacks for purchase and live music at the Visitor Center Patio.
For those ages 10 and up looking for a spookier experience, continue beyond the Adventure Garden to the Wetland Trail for an evening experience of Scarecrows: From Heartland to Horror. Journey through the evolution of the scarecrow in the United States with a chilling sculptural installation by artist Ray Villafane, while the interactive theater troupe Truth in Lies tell the story of this iconic symbol along the way.
Everett Children’s Adventure Garden activities are intended for children ages 2-10.
The Scarecrows: From Heartland to Horror evening experience is recommended for children ages 10 and up.
General Admission: Non-Member $20/Member $15. Advance tickets recommended. Children 14 or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

About Lucrecia Novoa:Bronx artist Lucrecia Novoa uses masks, costumes, storytelling and dance to interpret cultural folk traditions, specializing in giant papier-mâché masks for special events. Since 2004, the Chilean-born New York resident has been the Artist Director and Designer for Earth Celebrations and in 2010 joined Superior Concept Monsters – the principal troupe in NYC’s Village Halloween Parade. Her creations have appeared in countless other pageants, including Boston’s annual First Night New Year’s Eve Festival, and Earth Celebrations' The Rites of Spring: Procession to Save Our Gardens, and Hudson River Pageant.
