The artist's work leapt off the canvas and onto the runway this past Saturday as Van Gogh Dress-Up Day took over the Garden! 🖼️🎨🖌️

And inspiration was clearly in the air, from some of the most jaw-dropping Vincent look-alikes to sunflowers a-plenty, some lovely lilac representation, and homages to 'The Starry Night' that made Van Gogh's masterpiece into pure couture. Thank you to EVERYONE who came out for this sunny celebration of art and culture, and to @dandyinthebronx and @plantblerd for helping us pick the winning outfits (it was NOT easy).

Hear from artist Cyril Lancelin as he shares the motivations behind his enormous sculptural sunflowers, how he takes Van Gogh’s love of still life and expands it to MASSIVE proportions, and the way he added playful interactivity to the exhibition. In the Garden’s galleries, discover photography and visual art from the 1960s, while installations throughout NYBG's grounds invite all of us to “come together” and be empowered to embrace flowers as symbols in our own lives.
