Live Music Among the Roses: From Ragtime to Jazz

Jazz up your afternoon with these live sets of classic tunes. From ragtime and jazz to Broadway and beyond, dance along to favorites by the likes of Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and more. A phonograph DJ will spin original 1920s recordings between the live band sets.

Saturday: Gelber & Manning
Sets at 11 a.m., 1, 2:30, & 3:30 p.m.
Gelber & Manning is a Brooklyn-based musical vaudeville duo, comprised of Jesse Gelber on piano and Kate Manning on vocals. They specialize in ragtime and early jazz styles, in addition to performing original songs. Gelber & Manning can be found performing as a duo act or with their band at New York's hottest vintage events. Their latest project is a new musical about Storyville, New Orleans, entitled Where All The Rivers Go To Sleep.

Sunday: Queen Esther and her Trio
Sets at 11 a.m., 1, 2:30, & 3:30 p.m.
Queen Esther is an award-winning vocalist, songwriter, librettist, playwright, actor, and recording artist. She tours internationally with jazz guitar icon James “Blood” Ulmer in various configurations, including The Black Rock Experience (with drummer G. Calvin Weston and bassist Mark Petersen) and Odyssey (with drummer Warren Benbow and violinist Charles Burnham).
