On this week’s episode of #PlantPeople, host Jennifer Bernstein, CEO and President of NYBG, sits down with Professor Pathmanathan Umaharan, Director of the Cocoa Research Centre at the University of the West Indies. Together they explore the ancient history of cacao tree cultivation, and how today, these crops face new threats in climate change and plant diseases, creating serious challenges for the future of this important and delicious food.

You'll find these yellow and white classics popping up all around our 250 acres, but be sure to make a visit this week to the Liasson Narcissus Collection as well as the big moment at Daffodil Hill—where you’ll find nearly a million flowers in bloom, representing well over a century of daffodil curation here at NYBG.
