Charitable Trust

Charitable Lead Trust

A charitable lead trust provides income to the Garden for a determined number of years, with the remainder of the assets going to your designated heirs. You will receive a charitable deduction at the time of the gift equal to the present value of the total income the Garden will receive from the trust. This may reduce, or possibly eliminate, the gift tax on the eventual transfer to your heirs.

Charitable Remainder Trust

An effective strategy in estate and financial planning is the charitable remainder trust. It is a flexible planned giving option that provides you or other designated beneficiaries with income for life or another specified amount of time. At the appropriate time, the remaining assets are distributed to the Garden.

For more information, please contact the Office of Planned Giving at 718.817.8545 or via e-mail. There is no obligation, and all information will remain confidential.

For your convenience, the Gift Illustrator Tool computes anonymously your own life-income and tax benefit reports. The information will neither be saved nor used by the Garden and is for discussion purposes only with family and legal or financial counsel.
