Digital Membership cards offer a convenient, eco-friendly way to show your support. Your digital card can be saved to your smartphone’s wallet app (iPhone or Android), keeping your Membership just a tap away. By going digital, we reduce paper waste, lower our carbon footprint, and save on mailing costs—putting more of your Membership dollars toward caring for the Garden you love. Digital Card FAQs

Digital Cards

  • Access the email from membership@nybg.org on your iPhone and tap the “Add to Wallet” button, then tap “Add to Apple Wallet” and “Add.” Your digital Membership card is automatically saved in your Apple Wallet and can be accessed at any time.

  • Before downloading, install Google Wallet from Google Play (or use Samsung Wallet if you have a Samsung device). Then open the email from membership@nybg.org on your phone, tap “Add to Wallet,” and your digital Membership card will be saved in your Wallet app.

  • First, check the spam or junk mail folders of the email account associated with your NYBG Membership. If you still have not received your digital Membership card email within 48 hours, please contact the Membership Office at 718.817.8703 or membership@nybg.org, Tuesday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to verify your email address and request a resend.

  • As of September 22, 2025, NYBG issues digital Membership cards by default. This change supports our commitment to sustainability by reducing waste and allowing more of your Membership dollars toward NYBG’s vital programs. If you need a physical card, you may purchase one online when joining/renewing, or by contacting the Membership Office. A $10 fee applies. At this time, renewal notices and occasional event notifications will continue to be mailed.

  • Yes. Your digital card contains no sensitive payment information and is securely stored in your phone’s wallet app.

  • Yes! Your existing Membership card is also still valid until the expiration date printed on the back.

  • ​The digital Membership card you receive will display both your name and the secondary Member’s name. To share the digital card, simply forward the email to the secondary Member. Please note that there is a limit to the number of times the card can be downloaded, and cards cannot be shared with anyone other than those named on the card.

  • Member cards are non-transferable and can only be used by the named Member(s) on the account.

  • Yes. Renewals, expiration dates, and level changes will appear on your card within 2 to 3 business days of the change. Other changes, such as a name change or addition of a secondary Member, will also be reflected in your wallet after notifying the Membership Office.

  • You can purchase one when joining or renewing online for a $10 fee. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery. You may also order a card by contacting the Membership Office at 718-817-8703, on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Please do consider going digital. Opting for a digital card helps lower our environmental footprint by cutting down paper use.

  • Yes! If we have your email address on file, you will receive a digital card by email.

Digital Vouchers

  • Digital Member vouchers (previously called Member Passes) are one-time-use vouchers that can be redeemed for either free parking or guest admission. Vouchers are not valid for admission to the Holiday Train Show or select premium events.

    Two to three days after you’ve joined or renewed, digital Member vouchers are sent in a separate email on the same day you receive your digital card.

  • Parking: Present a valid digital or printed voucher to the parking attendant upon arrival. When using our secure parking facility at 401 Bedford Park Blvd., Members must also validate their parking ticket and redeem the voucher at a Garden ticket window to avoid event or standard weekday non-visitor rates. Please select “Redeem” on your voucher only in the presence of a Visitor Experience Attendant when you arrive at the parking booth.

    Guest Admission: Present a valid digital or printed voucher at any Garden ticket window.

    Each voucher is valid for one-time use only. If you do not bring your vouchers when visiting, regular rates apply (no refunds). Vouchers cannot be redeemed in advance of your visit. Please select “Redeem” on your voucher only in the presence of a Visitor Experience Attendant when you arrive at the ticketing booth.

  • Yes! Any unused physical Member passes remain valid until their expiration date. Please bring it with you during your next visit.

  • Digital vouchers may be shared with a non-Member and can be used by following the instructions provided in the email. Vouchers are not valid for admission to the Holiday Train Show or select premium events. Physical passes, however, may still only be redeemed in-person by the Member.

Troubleshooting

  • Members without smartphones can purchase a physical card (delivered in 2 to 3 weeks) for a $10 fee or use a printable PDF version included in the digital card email. A photo ID can also be used at any ticket window.

  • Once downloaded the card will be added to your phone’s wallet. If you have an iPhone, look through your Apple Wallet. If you have an Android phone, check your Samsung Wallet or Google Wallet. Note that to use the Google Wallet, you’ll need to download the app from the Play Store prior to downloading your Membership card.

  • Contact the Membership Office and we will resend your digital card at any time.
