Self-Guided Winter Adventures

Watch the wonders of winter unfold at the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden! Climb the boulders to reach our telescope and peer across to the landscape to the forest and frozen wetland. Walk along the story trail to read Where’s Rodney?, an empowering book about a boy’s connection to nature and the outdoors written by Carmen Bogan and illustrated by Floyd Cooper. Stop at the Swamp Oak Story Spot to read a book from our little library featuring winter and Black History Month stories, and use our Winter in the Garden scavenger hunt to search for winter time treasures like nests, birds, tracks, and buds. You can also put on a wintertime plant part picnic in our Playhouse, build a kid-sized nest using natural materials, and scan the frozen pond for wildlife at the Pond Pavilion.
