Wikipedia Environment of the Bronx Edit-a-Thon
Saturday, July 29, 2023
12–3 p.m. | At the Library
NYBG’s LuEsther T. Mertz Library and the Environment of New York City Task Force of WikiProject New York City welcome the general public of all experience to learn how to use Wikipedia. The Environment of the Bronx – Editing Wikipedia for Beginners edit-a-thon, enables attendees familiar with editing Wikipedia to edit worklists focused on the environment of New York City; as well as, a sub-list focused on the environment of the Bronx.
Editors will use the vast historic collections of the Mertz Library in order to create and edit existing pages. Training will be provided for those who have no prior experience editing Wikipedia. A training session will be offered during the first hour of this event—new editors are encouraged to attend.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own laptops, though the Library will provide laptops on a first-come, first-served basis. Entrance to the Library is free; when you arrive, alert Security that you are here for the event. Please enter through the Mosholu Entrance at 2950 Southern Boulevard.
This event is hosted by the local chapter of Wikipedia editors, Wikimedia New York City.
