The
Enid A. Haupt Conservatory offers a unique opportunity for
students to explore diverse habits-including tropical rain
forests and deserts of the Americas and Africa-all in a magnificent
glasshouse. Led by trained staff, students discover how plants
like the saguaro cactus and the kapok tree have adapted for
survival in extreme environments. Plants used everyday, such
as sugarcane and papyrus, are discussed, and props are used
to complete the experience.

the journey, discover ways people use plants around the world
and investigate how plants adapt to survive extreme habitats.
